Holmes Elementary
We’ve wrote poetry for the past week. Here are some of my poems. Please click on the link below.
Scott Pellegrom is coming to our school. He is my drum teacher. He is a fun guy. He is in his late 20’s. He is one of the best drummers ever. He is performing at the Middle School on April 30. He gives lessons at Guitar Haven in Grand Haven.
We have been exploring websites for kids. There are many websites out on the internet that kids learn, explore, connect with other kids, and play!
My choice is a website that has games, math arcade, brain teasers, and online books.
I like it because it is fun and has a variety of games.

We have been working on book talks for our Holmes Book Fair.
I read and wrote a book talk for Summer Ball
By Mike Lupica.
It is realistic fiction and is about a teenager named Danny Walker who goes to Right Way Basketball Camp with his friends Will, Ty, and Tarik.

I have a Book Baggie Book that I can read independently. I want to share some information with you about my book. The title of my book is Tucket’s Gold. It is written by Gary Paulsen.
This story is about three kids in a desert trying to survive and get back to the U.S. and trying to avoid the Comancheros. I just finished my book. It takes place in the desert -plains. One of my favorite characters is Francis because he is a group leader.
I would recommend this book because it is a survival and hope story.
Skippy and Dave stopped in Holmes Elementary to entertain the school. Dave and his puppets were funny and sang. They sang folk, country, and rock. Sadly no hard rock. Dave played guitar, harmonica, and sang. His puppets also sang. It was fun.
